Out of the Woods, Pastel by Dorothy Carringi

The Northwest Area Arts Council (naac) is pleased to announce Real People 2011. Real People is a national exhibit, celebrating the arts through faces and figures. It received over 400 entries from artists across the country. Of that number, approximately 80 entries were selected for exhibit.

Jurists for the selection process were Dan Addington of Dan Addington Gallery of Chicago; local artist Rodger Bechtold; and Chicago artist Laura Kina, who is also an Associate Professor of Art, Media and Design at DePaul University in Chicago.

Real People will open at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, IL on Thursday, August 4th and run through October 2nd. A Gala Opening and reception will be help on Sunday, August 27th.

The Workshop for Contemporary Artists annual members’ show and the annual members’ show of Claymirth, a St. Charles-based ceramics guild will run in conjunction with Real People.

The Old Court House Arts Center is located on the square in Woodstock, IL. Hours of operation are 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday hours are 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
