Winnetka, Feb. 14-19: Wallet stolen at library, and more

The following incidents were taken from Winnetka Police Department reports between Feb. 14-19.

THEFT

A wallet, containing $100 in cash, was reported stolen at 4:04 p.m. Feb. 13 from the Winnetka Public Library, 768 Oak St. The black, imitation reptile leather wallet had a rhinestone heart-shaped clasp, and had been left in a purse on a chair during the afternoon hours. The total estimated loss is $400.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A 17-year-old male juvenile, whose hometown was not released, was charged with four counts of criminal damage to state supported property at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 19 after he turned himself in at the Winnetka Police Department, 410 Green Bay Road. The charges stem from four Dec. 18 incidents in which vehicle tire marks were made in school and park district fields.

DRUGS

A 17-year-old male juvenile, whose hometown was not released, was arrested at 2:17 a.m. Feb. 20 after the vehicle he was driving was pulled over near the corner of Abbotsford and Warwick roads. He was charged with possession of marijuana and cited with improper lane usage and violation of a local ordinance prohibiting juveniles from driving between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

A 15-year-old male juvenile, whose hometown was not released, was arrested at 10:21 a.m. Feb. 18 in the 1000 block of Pelham Road and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a vehicle he was the passenger in was pulled over on a traffic stop. Police recovered a glass pipe and a grinder.

TRAFFIC

A 40-year-old Zion man was arrested at 9:13 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 200 block of Hibbard Road and charged with driving with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured vehicle following a traffic stop.

A 56-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 1:09 a.m. Feb. 18 in the 900 block of Green Bay Road and charged with driving with a suspended license and cited for improper lane usage after a traffic stop.

A 19-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 600 block of Sheridan Road and charged with driving without a license and cited for driving with one headlight after a traffic stop.
