Social Action Sunday, a day of giving back to the community was held
April 3 at Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah – Wilmette. Congregants
under the direction of chairs Linda Becker and Jan Mahler (Wilmette) volunteered
and participated in many worthwhile activities.
Three hundred lunches and six hundred sandwiches were prepared and delivered to
The Night Ministry of Chicago, The Evanston Ecumenical Action Council and
Connections for the Homeless. A food drive including toiletries for the Ezra Pantry -
Chicago was another project, as well as a recycling drive of school supplies for
Chicago schools. Other activities were a blood drive and political letter writing.

Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah gratefully acknowledges the generous
donations of food and packing supplies by Panera, Fresh Market – Wilmette,
Tel-Aviv Bakery – Chicago, Fresh Farm – Wheeling and Z Best Bread.
