Beauty & Balance Salon opened its doors on November 7, 2006 on Greenbay Road in Kenilworth. As the salon looks toward its fifth year of operation, sisters and co-owners Kelly and Dawn Stobart agree that they are right where they want to be – in a location with a devoted following which is growing every day, a creative staff that includes some of the top styling & coloring talent in the Chicago area, and a space that exudes warmth and welcome. With close to 25 years of combined service and salon experience between them, the Stobart sisters have discovered that their business sense is a strong asset as well. Beauty & Balance has weathered the economic downturn and over the past four years has added staff, services, and new product lines.
Over the past four years, the Stobart sisters have tripled their staff at Beauty & Balance attracting some of the top talent in the Chicagoland area to their salon team. The staff currently includes four creative stylists, including the most recent addition, Melanie Abramowitz, a stylist with 17 years of experience who received her training at Pivot Point International and Art & Science Salon. Colorists Dawn Stobart and Jeff Ashlock added Arek Porczynski to their team this past summer. Porczynski was trained at Trio Salon-Chicago, which offers a highly selective post-graduate program in hair design.
Kelly & Dawn Stobart attribute much of their success over the past four years to building a trust with their clients. They really do listen to their customers and often choose product lines based on their client’s needs and desires, as well as on salon trends followed closely by the Beauty & Balance staff. To celebrate its loyal customers and to welcome new clients, Beauty & Balance is offering 50% off its new line of Moroccan Oil conditioning service or the Kevin Murphy conditioning process (blow dry not included). Additionally, clients booking appointments with new stylist Melanie Abramowitz or colorist Arek Porczynski will receive a one-time only $20 off their cut or color.
