Deerfield, Riverwoods, Glenview Montessori Schools and the Blast Zone enjoy family fun and help to stock the food pantry.
Helping to gather items for the food pantry and having some family fun at the Blast Zone turned out to be one of the highlights of the back to school activities this year for children of the Deerfield, Riverwoods and Glenview Montessori Schools. Carlos Rodriguez, General Manager of The Blast Zone and former Riverwoods Montessori School parent, was enthusiastic about opening his doors to support a common cause; both organizations have a strong commitment to support their local community.
Newly opened, The Blast Zone (located at 645 Lakeview Parkway, Suite 100, Vernon Hills, IL) is a unique indoor recreational facility that offers a variety of active play experiences for children. A few favorite activities included jumping on the trampolines, climbing in the maze and traveling in the turbo tubs. Riverwoods Montessori elementary school students in particular had been eagerly awaiting the opening since last spring when they offered their opinions on the name of the facility. Additionally they enjoyed extending their experience as they sorted and delivered the food that was collected to the local food pantry.
