Wilmette, Jan. 27-31: Twelve cases of beer of beer recovered, and more

The following incidents were taken from Wilmette Police Department reports on Jan. 27-31.

THEFT

A 73-year-old Winnetka woman was arrested at 1:40 p.m. Jan. 30 at Carson Pirie Scott, 3200 Lake Ave., and cited with violating a local theft ordinance after she allegedly tried to steal merchandise.

A diamond bracelet valued at $2,000 was reported stolen Jan. 26 from a store in the 1100 block of Central Avenue, where it had been left for repair on Oct. 1. The bracelet owner did not have a receipt from the store, and the store owner said he last repaired the woman’s bracelet several years ago and that woman is confused.

ALCOHOL

A 20-year-old Lincolnshire man and a 21-year-old Atlanta man were arrested at 8:50 p.m. Jan. 28 in the 100 block of Green Bay Road and cited with violating local alcohol ordinances. Twelve cases of Keystone beer were recovered after police discovered the 21-year-old allegedly bought the beer for an underage friend.

TRAFFIC

A 22-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 8:59 a.m. Jan. 30 in the 2200 block of Lake Avenue and charged with driving without a license following a traffic stop.
