Chicago Bears Mascot to Challenge Area Children

Chicago Bears Staley is daring area children to a challenge. The question is, are they ready?

Staley Da Bear- The Official Mascot of the Chicago Bears will appear Saturday, September 11th, 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., at the Indian Trails Public Library District, 355 S. Schoenbeck Road, in Wheeling, IL, highlighting the First and Goal School Program.

“This program is important because it gives children every day opportunities to make healthy choices in their life,” Staley Da Bear said.

The program is a six-week fitness challenge that encourages children to eat healthy, drink water, get proper rest, and stay physically active. Every participant who finishes the challenge wins a prize. A select number of participants will win a 10-minute field tour, a Staley plush doll, a $100 bill, “on-field” recognition, and two tickets to a Bears Home Football Game. Annually, Staley Da Bear appears at more than 300 events including Bears games.

“The program was created because of the need to help defeat the obesity epidemic in today’s youth,” said Scott Adams, the Chicago Bears Mascot Coordinator. Adams said the program was structured in a way to assist parents and officials in teaching children the many benefits to being healthy while making it fun and exciting.

No registration is necessary for this program. For children in grades K-5. Tickets will be given out a half hour before the program.
