Two Wheaton connections – Camerata Chicago chamber orchestra led by Maestro Drostan Hall and The Buonacorsi Foundation – are taking part in a special Valentine’s weekend charity event, “Immortal Beloved & Roses”. The event will feature a concert performance and gourmet chocolate reception at The Murphy Auditorium in Chicago to benefit The National Museum of Health + Medicine Chicago on Saturday, February 11th beginning at 7 PM.

Founded in 2003 by conductor Drostan Hall, Camerata Chicago will accompany internationally acclaimed Chicago pianist George Lepauw in what promises to be a memorable evening to benefit The National Museum of Health + Medicine Chicago. The event is being sponsored by the Wheaton headquartered Buonacorsi Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports programs in the arts and sciences, all national or international in scope.

In addition to raising support for The National Museum of Health + Medicine Chicago which will be opening its doors to the public this summer, the concert is expected to be one of the season’s most romantic classical performances featuring a selection of Beethoven’s best loved works including the Emperor Piano Concerto.

Camerata Chicago is firmly established as one of the finest chamber orchestras on the world stage and has performed frequently on WFMT radio station as well as for well-known concert venues such as the Art Institute of Chicago, The Murphy Auditorium, The Harris Theater, Chicago Cultural Center, Northeastern Illinois University, St. James Cathedral and North Park University. In the summer of 2013, Camerata Chicago is slated to begin a major European Tour. The orchestra will also be performing with Grammy winner Caroline Goulding as part of the Wheaton College Artist Series this fall.

A limited number of tickets to the National Museum of Health + Medicine Chicago’s “Immortal Beloved & Roses” fundraiser are still available. Visit http://www.nmhmchicago.org for more details about the National Museum of Health + Medicine Chicago and its upcoming events.
