Cantigny is Open -Weekends in February
Feb. 5 at 9:10 p.m.
I was so excited to see that Cantigny is open again!!! Seeing that the weather was so pleasant on Sunday I thought I would make a visit and take a walk. Even thought the flower gardens are not in bloom, if you truly love nature you will find something interesting to discover. Cantigny is home to some Red-Headed Woodpeckers that are often spotted on birdwalks. I managed to be able to spend a little time watching one today and caught a few photos. I even caught what I consider a peek-a-boo shot of this lovely bird in its home in a large tree. Just thought I would share this in case you have never seen one.

Nice photos and thanks for posting. The red-headed woodpecker is such a special bird, and not common at all in DuPage County. We are so lucky to have them here at Cantigny Park. Especially one that stays all winter!
