Local Novelist to Reveal Spicy Romances June 19 at Glen Ellyn BookFest
She’s no desperate housewife. On the contrary, local author Fiona McGier has everything she’s ever wanted: a loving marriage, four great kids and a cozy home in Wheaton.
So why is she driven to write not one or two, but five “spicy” adult novels in The Reyes Family Romances series?
“The kinds of stories I write are the kind that have always swirled around in my head,” McGier explains. “When I was a kid I thought all people walked around with characters telling stories to them in their heads. I think that falling in love, getting married, having children...these are some of the most important things that happen in your life.”
McGier anticipates finding more romance readers this weekend at the Glen Ellyn BookFest, held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19. She will be displaying her novels most fittingly in Knickers of Glen Ellyn lingerie boutique at 492 Main Street. This first annual book festival, sponsored by the Downtown Glen Ellyn Alliance, will pair local authors with retailers who share themes. McGier will be signing books, including her newest, Love Therapy, until 3 p.m. and raffling off a book of choice. Her books are $15 each cash or check, two for $28 and other discounts.
