The Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau (WCCTB) 2012 Board of Directors convened for the first time on January 25th. The first Board meeting of 2012 was chaired by WCCTB President David LaBrash, Clarendon Hills Bank. In addition, Gregg Pill, Oak Brook Racquet and Fitness Club moved into his second year as Vice President. Alison Clemens, Clemens Enterprises will continue to serve as Secretary and rounding the WCCTB Executive Board is Tammi Karam, Humidor of Westmont now serving as Treasurer.
New to the WCCTB Board in 2012 is Mr. Steve Bauer, Phillips Flowers & Gifts; Mr. Kevin Cary, CUSD 201; Mr. Bill Gust, Westmont Yard Indoor Sports Complex; Kathy Mallet, McGrath Lexus; and, Mr. Ron Searl, Village of Westmont. President LaBrash indicated “With the addition of Steve Bauer, Kevin Cary, Bill Gust, Kathy Mallet and Ron Searl, the Chamber continues to enhance the balance of representation within our service area and thus expand the scope of perspectives in guiding the Chamber and our business community forward.”
Adding to the depth of quality community knowledge and business expertise, the 2012 WCCTB Board of Directors includes: Mr. Frank Brady, Quality Telephone Communications; Mr. Al Carson, Carson Communications, Ms. Violette Hawkins, Edward Jones Investments; Ms. Kim Lojewski, Westmont Park District; Mr. Umesh Patel, Best Western Oakbrook Inn; and, Ms. Pam Wagner; Pam & Joe Wagner Avon. “We have a solid Board in place and we will have a productive 2012,” said President David LaBrash.
Completing the maximum of six consecutive years of service on the WCCTB Board is Past President, Lorraine Devericks, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Mr. Bill Kalafut, Realty Concepts. WCCTB President, David LaBrash noted “Both Lorraine Devericks and Bill Kalafut have served WCCTB with distinction, their excellent blend of business experience and skills as well as community knowledge have been an important asset to WCCTB. The Westmont Chamber looks forward to their ongoing involvement in our Chamber and Westmont.” Two Board members, Mr. Dennis Jordan of Westmont Pharmacy and Home Medical Equipment and Mr. Patrick Womack of Laurel BMW of Westmont also concluded service on the Board in 2011. Both played important roles on the Board, including Mr. Womack with his work on the formation of the Westmont Auto Mile and Mr. Jordan in his support of our Downtown Business District.
As WCCTB President LaBrash points to key goals, highlighting that “The Westmont business community and our Chamber of Commerce will both grow through active participation. The Westmont Chamber will emphasize proactive communications and seek ongoing grass-roots support through engaged involvement with business owners, community organizations and our local and state governmental bodies. Mutual cooperation is critical for the ongoing growth and success of Westmont.”
President David LaBrash encourages all local business and community groups to become involved with the Chamber so we can maximize how we work in support of each other and the Westmont Area Business Community as a whole.
