Car show returns to Tinley Park Convention Center this weekend

More than 100 cars will fill the Tinley Park Convention Center Saturday and Sunday during the second year of the locally-organized Custom Rides Car Show.

Tim and Becky Rogers of Rogers Towing of Mokena are bringing the show back again after a successful first year. About 100 cars are signed up for the show, which will feature classic cars, custom hot rods, muscle cars, race cars and trucks.

Food vendors and entertainment will be on hand, as well as auctions and raffles. Homes 4 Heroes, a Will County-based nonprofit that modifies the homes of disabled veterans, is also participating in the event to help raise awareness and funds for the organization.

The show will be at 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. A special sock hop is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $13 for adults and $5 for kids. Kids under 5 are free. The first 100 adult visitors each day will receive a free goodie bag.
