Men wrestle in the street during road rage incident

A 59-year-old Tinley Park man was treated for a laceration on his head at Palos Community Hospital Saturday night after a road rage fight broke out at the intersection of 175th Street and 80th Avenue at about 10:10 p.m., police said.

The man and his wife were leaving Gatto’s Restaurant & Bar when she accidentally pulled out in front of a blue van, police said. The van continued to follow their car closely, angering the husband. He instructed his wife to stop the car before getting out and approaching the van in an aggressive manner, police said.

The woman said she observed her husband and a man from the van pushing and wrestling with one another, and then saw the man hit her husband in the face, knocking him to the ground, before leaving in the van.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the hospital after the wife requested his injuries be checked.
