An 18-year-old Orland Hills man was taken to a hospital Monday night after three unknown men entered Smokey Top Tobacco and allegedly pistol whipped the clerk during an armed robbery.

Tinley Park Police Cmdr. Steve Vaccaro said the men entered the store at 7301 183rd St. at about 7 p.m. and beat the clerk before breaking into the safe and making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Vaccaro said the man was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital Monday night.

Police are investigating the incident.
