A 27-year-old Tinley Park man was arrested at the Oak Park Avenue train station after he allegedly attacked a woman from behind while she was walking on Oak Forest Avenue just east of the train station Friday night.
According to police, the woman was walking near 66th Avenue when she heard someone running toward her from behind. The man bear hugged her and told her to give him a kiss. He shoved her to the ground, but she was able to escape and run home and report the incident. She suffered a scrapped knee.
Police said when they found the man he smelled like alcohol and had two, 40 ounce bottles of Miller Genuine Draft on him.
He was charged with battery after the woman identified the man as her attacker. He was released on a $1,000 bond and given an Oct. 14 court date at the Cook County Courthouse in Bridgeview.
