Starting October 17 through January 30, Hanover Township residents in grades 2- 12 are eligible for affordable tutoring for weekly, one hour sessions during the school year. Serving students since 1997, certified teachers provide small group tutoring for a fee of $45.00 per child, per semester in the subjects of reading, writing, math, science, social studies and study skills.
“This really is a great service for students who either need help with their homework or that are looking for help with their study habits,” said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire. “I often hear from parents of kids in the program that notice a significant shift in their child’s grades.”
Each week parents and guardians will receive a progress report from the tutor on their student’s performance, strengths and areas in need of improvement.
Tutoring occurs on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Streamwood High School Sabre Center (door #9), 701 W. Schaumburg Road, Streamwood.
Please visit www.hanover-township.org under the “Youth Family Services” page for a tutoring application or visit their office at 250 S. Route 59 in Bartlett.
