Shingles vaccination to be offered at township health expo

Dominick’s Pharmacy in Bartlett will be onsite for the 4th annual “Just for the Health of it” Community Health and Wellness Expo at the Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett, on Thursday, September 22 from 2:00 – 6:00PM, to administer and provide information on the Shingles vaccine, Zostavax.

The Shingles Vaccine is covered under Medicare Part D and the co-payment amount can vary depending on each insurance plan. Individuals who are interested in receiving the vaccination are required to register by contacting Jennifer Busché, Hanover Township Social Services Manager at 630-483-5666 by Friday, September 16. When registering, please have your Medicare Part D card available. Dominick’s Pharmacy will contact each registered individual prior to the event. The co-payment amount must be paid at the expo.

The expo, sponsored by Hanover Township, Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider and the Victory Centre of Bartlett, is open to the public. Attendees will be able to take advantage of over a dozen free health screenings for osteoporosis, diabetes, cholesterol and more. Last year, over 700 attendees participated in the expo.
