Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Bob Leonard 5K Run and Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, August 7th. Event check-in will be at the grand pavilion in Pottawatomie Park along the beautiful Fox River in downtown St. Charles. Register today on-line at www.signmeup.com. 5K Run Details: The 5K Run crosses the Fox River before heading north into the hills of Timber Trails Park. The 5K Run begins at 8 AM with sign in starting at 7:15 AM.
- Race is chip-timed and course is USTAF certified
- Performance t-shirts will be given to first 200 paid run or walk entries
- Medals awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers of each age group
- Additional prizes awarded to 1st place finishers and Best Overall Time winners
Walk-A-Thon Details: Gather the family and take a walk along the Fox River through downtown St. Charles. The 2.5 mile journey also begins and ends in Pottawatomie Park with a turnaround point in Mount St. Mary Park. The Walk-A-Thon begins at 9:30 AM with sign in starting at 8:45.
- The walk route is separate from the 5K run course
- Families are encouraged to participate – strollers and pets are welcome!
- Walkers are encouraged to raise pledges for this event. A prize will be awarded to the walker who contributes the greatest amount of pledges.
With the $25 entry fee, everyone will receive a technical weave performance t-shirt. For a minimum donation of $50, each person will receive an event t-shirt, River Corridor Foundation beach towel, and entry into the grand prize drawing held during the Party at the Pavilion immediately following the walk. Prize winners need not be present to win one of the following generously donated items:
- The Wine Exchange: 2 $50 Gift Certificates & Couple’s Wine Exchange Club Memberships
- Geneva Curves: 6 Month Membership including Enrollment Fee
- Lia Sophia Jewelry: 2 jewelry pieces valued at $100 each
