“It's a pleasure listening to Marla – her technical prowess is only exceeded by her intention that the listener feel the feelings associated with the music,” said Merritt. “Marla's voice can change the mood of the listener within moments. She is a blessing to Temple Beth Israel.”
“It is such an honor to be here at Temple Beth Israel where there is a great unity of music and prayer,” said Marla. “My Reform side welcomes the music at Shabbat services, my Conservative side loves the traditional chants, and TBI’s music-filled Kabbalat Shabbat special service reminds me of the warmth and togetherness of the camp experience. And I so look forward to working with the adult volunteer choir – Koleynu, who are a wonderful group of dedicated singers, and students from TBI’s highly acclaimed Religious and Hebrew Schools.”
