On Thursday, August 5, Q2, Evanston’s newest spot for jazz, will be heating up with a performance from the Typhanie Monique and Neal Alger Duo. The soulful-voiced chanteuse and the talented jazz guitarist promise an evening of R&B and jazz duets with sets beginning at 7:30 and 8:45 p.m. The critically-acclaimed duo has played jazz clubs and major music festivals around the world and has recorded three standout CDs together. Admission is free for Q2Nite, which offers a unique opportunity for musicians and guests alike to experience jazz in an intimate setting. Music is performed in Q2, a cozy cocktail lounge located inside the Homestead Hotel. The Q2Nite jazz performance series takes place on the first and third Thursdays of the month.
