Friendship Village of Schaumburg is celebrating its 35th anniversary through a series of programs, events and honors which will begin in February and continue throughout the year.

The festivities officially kick-off on Friday, February 17 at 2 p.m. with the 35th Anniversary and Centenarian Celebration in Assembly Hall. State Representative Michelle Mussman, Schaumburg Village President Al Larson, Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider and other dignitaries have been invited to share their congratulations and formal proclamations to Friendship Village for its invaluable presence in the community.

The opening ceremony will also honor Friendship Village’s 18 centenarians who are celebrating their birthdays of 100 years or more during 2012. Six associates who have worked at Friendship Village for 30 years or more will also be recognized. The program will close with a special anniversary video and refreshments.

For residents of Friendship Village, other celebratory events will include meal service featuring Dining Across the Decades, sessions of Family Feud Friendship Village Style held across campus, a 70’s disco party and more.

On Friday, February 17th, all residents and associates will have the opportunity to participate in an online experience event. Representatives from Ivy Marketing Group will be on hand to help residents record and post their favorite memories of Friendship Village. These recollections will be posted on Friendship Village’s newly re-launched website at www.friendship village.org.
