The Spring Valley Chorus of Schaumburg, IL has won three awards at the Sweet Adelines International Regional Small Chorus competition held May 21 in Grand Rapids Michigan. The Spring Valley women’s barbershop group won two awards for musical excellence including third place in the small chorus competition and fifth place in the competition including all chorus sizes. The chorus also received the prestigious Chorus of the Year award from Region Three of Sweet Adelines International for their outstanding membership growth.
The Spring Valley Chorus is open to women of all ages who love to sing. Currently the group has 25 members with four members under the age of 20. They sing light, entertaining popular music from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s plus Broadway and show tunes. The group entertains at community and private events and parties. Rehearsals are open and guests are always welcome at the Barn of Schaumburg, 231 Civic Center Drive, Schaumburg IL on Tuesday nights from 7:30 – 10:00PM.
