On Aug. 1, Aug. 15, Aug. 29 and Sept. 5, young fans attending the Schaumburg Flyers 1:20 p.m. home games can help LEGOLAND® Discovery Center experts build a replica of the team’s ballpark, Alexian Field, from LEGO® bricks. In mid-September, the completed model will be displayed in MINILAND® at LEGOLAND Discover Center, 601 N. Martingale Rd. at the Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg.
The model building events will take place in the Flyers’ Kids Zone, located along the third base line in left field and are open to kids of all ages. Daniel Morey, Master Model Builder from LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago, has designed the Alexian Field model blueprint.
“We’re all big Schaumburg Flyers fans,” said Morey. “The games have such a great family atmosphere, and we’re really excited to add to the festivities with this event. Alexian Field presents some interesting challenges for a LEGO model, and we’re really excited to see how the kids use their imaginations to recreate it.”
The Alexian Field model will be built in sections during the four games. Each builder can enter to win two annual passes to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago. All visitors to LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago who present a valid Flyers ticket stub from the Aug. 1, Aug. 15, Aug. 29 or Sept. 5 games will receive $3 off the price of admission. Some restrictions apply.
“We’re really excited to welcome LEGOLAND Discovery Center and LEGO enthusiasts to the ballpark and even more excited to see the final product, the LEGO Alexian Field,” said Scott Boor, Executive Director of Ticket Operations for the Schaumburg Flyers.
