Fireworks fans fear not, the Schaumburg Boomers will be bringing back the patriotic display for its inaugural season.
The team recently signed a contract with Indiana-based Melrose Pyrotechnics, which also does fireworks for four Major League Baseball teams, including the White Sox, as well as the Bears, Bulls and Green Bay Packers. The fireworks will be held every Friday home game, the first Sunday game on May 27, and the Schaumburg Independence Day celebration on July 3.
“Boomers fans deserve first-class firework shows and Melrose Pyrotechnics is the best at what they do,” Boomers Vice President of Marketing and Promotions Dave Salvi said in a statement. “We couldn’t be happier working with such an esteemed company sporting an extensive client base.”
Unlike the new team’s predecessor, the Schaumburg Flyers, the Boomers will not charge extra for games with fireworks, said team Spokesman Ed McCaskey. Tickets will be $10.
