Crest Hill man accused of DUI, speeding on Rt. 53, and more

These incidents and arrests were taken from Romeoville Police reports released Jan. 31 and Feb. 3, and information from the Will County Circuit Clerk’s Office and Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Crash

  • A 40-year-old Romeoville man from the 500 block of Fenton Avenue has been ordered to have no contact with car keys following his Jan. 28 arrest during a Sheriff’s Police crash investigation at Briggs Street and Bruce Road in unincorporated Joliet. The man is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 21 for a preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, driving without a valid license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He remained in the Will County Adult Detention Facility Friday in lieu of $40,000 bail.

DUI

  • A 27-year-old Crest Hill man was arrested Jan. 29 for DUI, driving 26-30 mph above the speed limit and improper lane use during a 3:05 a.m. traffic stop at Illinois Route 53 and Belmont Drive. He is scheduled to be arraigned March 12.

Reckless driving

  • A 19-year-old Romeoville male from the 1000 block of Redondo Drive was arrested Jan. 26 for reckless driving/aggravated speeding and possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia during a 7:45 p.m. traffic stop at 135th Street and Claire Avenue.

Drug-related

  • A 19-year-old Romeoville male from the 100 block of Ferndale Avenue was arrested Jan. 28 for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia during a 10:25 p.m. traffic stop at Romeo Road and Frieh Drive for speeding.
