Go to Mings Now: The Richardsons Take

Takeout Chinese food simply solves the daily question: Whats for dinner? But when our favorite go-to option was sold, and eventually closed, we were left without a favorite. And some local favorites have proved disappointing to us, but then enterMings. Its location in the Radisson at 1725 East Algonquin may deter some. But they would be wrong to think its location within the hotel means anything less than eggscellent (thats for those that liked our little egg references in previous articles) food. Weve ordered Mings twice now, and this is our new go-to place.

The food is amazing, but there are some drawbacks: no delivery, white rice only and no fried rice on the weekends without a special order. And the restaurant recently changed a few items on its menu, but when we ordered last, the online menu hadnt been updated yet. The cashew chicken is amazing as is the beef and broccoli. Nick thought that Kung Pow Chicken wasnt spicy, but it made my head sweat a little. The servings are fairly large as well. Each dish is easily two meals and could be three if you eat more rice at the first time.

During the week, lunch specials prove a good value with more than 30 different items to choose from, including www.radisson.com/hotels/ilschaum/dinings. According to its website, Mings boasts a blend of both Northern and Southern Chinese cuisine, with dishes ranging from spicy Szechwan to mild regional delicacies. For two dinner orders, our bills hovered around $25.

Admittedly, we were skeptical of Mings based on its location, but after reading Aloyius Ts Yelp review, www.yelp.com/biz/mings-bar-and-grill-schaumburg, we tried it and have told everyone we know about it since. So, when youre faced with the dreaded whats-for-dinner question, go to Mings, and you wont be disappointed.
