A Rolling Meadows couple sued Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and several Chicago media organizations Aug. 26, alleging that their triplets were videotaped, photographed and written about without their permission.
Bryan and Cynthia Lindgren became the parents of triplets in early February, according to the lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court. The lawsuit also names the Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times Media LLC and WLS Television Inc.
The triplets were delivered about the same time as three other sets of triplets, the suit says.
The suit alleges that the Lindgrens did not give their consent to the hospital for media outlets to film their children for a report about the high number of triplets.
The resulting stories still included “highly private, health-related details” about their babies, the suit states.
Medical center spokesman Mike Maggio said Thursday evening that he had not yet seen the suit and could not immediately comment.
