The women of the GFWC-IL Plainfield Junior Woman’s Club have announced The Second Annual ROCK FOR THE KIDS fundraiser benefiting Edward Foundation’s KidsCare Campaign. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, June 9, 2011 from
6:00 PM- 10:00 PM at Limestone Brewery, 12337 S Route 59, Plainfield, IL, 60585.
ROCK FOR THE KIDS will be an evening of fun, food, and entertainment to raise money for the KidsCare Campaign. Tickets are $25 per person, which includes a complimentary meal and drink specials. In addition, the band, Rendition, will provide musical entertainment. Guests can participate in raffles as well as bid on auction items such as flat screen TVs, sports memorabilia, wine cases and much more. All proceeds will be donated to Edward Foundation's KidsCare Campaign.
The Edward Foundation's KidsCare Campaign is an effort to fund the complete renovation of the newborn and pediatric intensive care units (NICU and PICU), and Special Procedure rooms, which will include diagnostic imaging, infant hearing, hematology/oncology, and more.
For families of children in the NICU and PICU a place to recharge and reflect is critical. That is why this renovation will also include the first in-hospital Ronald McDonald Family Room in Illinois. Ronald McDonald House Charities has selected Edward as the site for its first-in-Illinois Ronald McDonald Family Room. This wonderful addition will provide sleeping rooms, showers, relaxation areas, and a kitchen area for parents so that they can get the rest, respite, and nourishment they need in order to be near their child’s bedside around the clock.
According to Meghan Moreno, Executive Director of Edward Foundation, “We are excited to partner with PJWC on this event. The ROCK FOR THE KIDS event helps the KidsCare Campaign make it possible to provide comfort, privacy, and a place to stay for many local families in need.”
Support of the ROCK FOR THE KIDS event can be provided by sponsorships and advertisements, donation of items for the raffle and auction and/or a monetary donation.
