Lutheran General physicians named to Chicago Top Doctors for Women list

Included in Chicago magazine’s Top Doctors for Women list, 15 Advocate Lutheran General Hospital-affiliated physicians from 7 specialties and subspecialties recently were acknowledged by their peers as being among the Chicago area’s best at meeting the health and wellness needs of women.

The Lutheran General Hospital physicians were included in a January 2011 edition of Chicago magazine feature revealing the names of 250 metropolitan Chicago doctors judged by fellow medical professionals to be exceptional caregivers in specialties and subspecialties specifically related to women’s health. The Top Doctors for Women list includes board-certified doctors in areas such as gynecologic oncology, obstetrics-gynecology, and maternal and fetal medicine.

“Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is very proud to offer the skills and experience of the physicians on the Top Doctors for Women list,” said Michael McKenna, M.D. vice president of medical management at Lutheran General Hospital and Lutheran General Children’s Hospital. “This is further validation of the commitment by all our physicians and associates to always provide the best care and service to the patients that trust us with their health and wellness.”

Selection for the Top Doctors for Women list was done in cooperation with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a health care research and information company that identifies outstanding physicians throughout country. Physicians and medical leadership of leading hospitals were asked through mail, telephone surveys and electronic ballots to name exceptional board-certified doctors. A screening process was utilized before the final selection was made of the physicians most highly regarded by their peers.
