Harry O’Brien Community Fun Run a Success!

The sea of bright green shirts were a sight to behold on a beautiful, sunny Saturday morning in Park Ridge!

The Harry O’Brien Community Run/Walk was held for the second year in a row outside the Senior Center and about 170 runners or walkers came out to participate.

Harry O’Brien was known as “Mr. Park Ridge.”  He was the Executive Director of the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce for 25 years and he promoted the community with energy and enthusiasm. Harry organized events and festivals for residents and business-owners so they could come together and support each other.

Harry is remembered for his dedicated community service, for volunteering countless hours to various organizations, and for always caring about the people of Park Ridge. With this in mind, the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce and the Park Ridge Community Fund hosted the 2ndt Annual Event in Harry’s honor. Proceeds go to the Park Ridge Community Fund to provide much needed support to the social service agencies that are lifelines for many of our residents.

Our hope is for the Harry O’Brien Community Run to bring our community together to honor Harry and to continue his legacy of helping those in need while bringing joy to others. You can also support by sending your tax deductible donation to Park Ridge Community Fund, 720 Garden St., Parak Ridge, IL 60068.  Please visit the website at www.PRCommunityFund.org.
