Park Ridge police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a dead man who was found in a small parking lot early this morning near the Metra tracks in the northwest suburb.
Authorities found a dead man lying on the ground at 2:18 a.m. on the 200 block of South Summit Avenue with no signs of visible trauma or gunshot wounds. Police said they are unsure how the man died or who he is.
The man is described as white, between 30-years-old to 35-years-old and wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. There was no identification on the man, said Cmdr. Lou Jogmen, adding a passer-by who saw the body called 911.
Park Ridge police are investigating the case along with the northwest suburban Major Case Assistance Team. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, said a spokesperson with the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Last week, a dog walker stumbled across a dead body in the woods near Riverside Drive and Oakton Street, though it was later determined the man died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head.
