The Brickton Art Center in Park Ridge is showcasing a variety of work from Mary Lin Yoshimura, a Park Ridge native who moved to the East Coast for inspiration and to develop her skills.
Born in Park Ridge, Yoshimura attended St. Paul of the Cross School, St. Scholastica Academy and Mundelein College. After college, she worked full time to support her family before heading off to Baltimore and later New York City. She returned to Chicago in 2005 and now works as a professional artist.
“We are always happy to feature the work of an artist with a Park Ridge connection,” Annamaria Hallagan, president of Brickton Art Center’s board of directors, said in a statement. “Her collages and their origins are truly imaginative and give visitors to our gallery something a little different to view in the new year.”
The center is located at 306 Busse Highway. For information, visit www.bricktonartcenter.org or call 847-823-6611.
The exhibit runs until March 3.
