Des Plaines police are investigating a string of garage burglaries that happened earlier this week on the city’s east side.
Three of the incidents happened on the 1700 block of Illinois Street while another occurred on the 1700 block of Elm, police said. The burglaries all happened overnight between Aug. 29 and Aug. 30, police said.
Garage owners said there were marks indicating the doors had been opened with a pry tool, according to reports.
While three homeowners said nothing appeared to be missing, tools valued at $2,185 were stolen from one garage, police said.
