Three local men were each charged with unlawful use of a weapon August 13 after they were stopped for a traffic violation in the 13100 block of South Harlem Avenue and gave police permission to search their car, police said.
The officer’s recovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun, a stun gun, a blackjack and a set of brass knuckles from the vehicle, police said. Two of the men were in their mid 40s and the third offender was 34.

A 47-year-old Hickory Hills woman was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct August 22 after she was caught stealing medical supplies from the emergency room at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, police said. The offender was in the emergency room waiting for a friend who was being treated for an injury when a nurse spotted her rifling through a supply cabinet, police said.

Police are investigating a complaint by a patient at Manor Care West in the 11800 block of Southwest Highway who reported that cash was stolen from her room sometime between August 5 and 16, police said.

Police are investigating the theft of items from an unlocked car parked in the driveway of a house in the 12900 block of 70th Court on the night of August 9.

A 40-year-old Chicago Ridge man was charged with retail theft August 20 after he allegedly stole three cases of beer from a grocery store in the 6400 block of West 127th Street, police said.
