Members of Conrady Junior High School’s ‘Adventure Club’ are doing their part to help the victims devastated by last month’s earthquake in Haiti.

The students have teamed up with Global Hope, a Downers Grove-based organization that donated numerous slightly used sheets and pillowcases.

Conrady students put aside regular club activities recently and spent an entire meeting decorating sheets and pillowcases with personal and heartfelt messages of peace, love and hope.

The sheets will be donated to a hospital and an orphanage in Haiti, both of which experienced a huge influx after the earthquake.

Some of the sheets also will be used to bury the dead.

“The kids took the endeavor seriously and were humbled by being part of this tremendous cause,” said Mariola Zyglowicz, who, along with Marjie Kremer sponsor the ‘Adventure Club.’ “We are so proud of our students’ willingness to give back and help those in need.”
