The personal computer has revolutionized the way we do so many things.
Finding the definitions of words we don’t know is just one of those things. But students should still know how to look up words the old-fashioned way: By thumbing through a dictionary.
The Moraine Valley Rotary Club made that task a little easier by donating new dictionaries to all third-graders at Glen Oaks School in Hickory Hills.
Keeping with its mission of community service, the Moraine Valley Rotary Club recently donated the paperback dictionaries in an effort to improve students’ vocabulary, study skills and reading comprehension.
Rotary President Mark Smolenski and two of the club’s officers helped pass out the dictionaries to the students.
