If you live in Palos Heights and have a son or daughter in Junior High, then you have probably heard about the Teen Mixers at the Palos Heights Rec. Center. These monthly events are becoming increasingly popular with the local teens.

Teen mixers are events held on the first Friday of every month at the Palos Heights Rec. Center at which teens can come and socialize with their friends while enjoying an exciting atmosphere. The event runs from 7:30-9:30pm and features a live DJ, DJ Stevie D from Operation Getdown Productions, who entertains the teens with a fun night of music and a great lights show. There is also a concessions stand where students can buy candy, pop and water.

The night is supervised by a fun staff from the Palos Heights Parks and Recreation Department. According to the staff members who host the event, the teens love the mixers and look forward to them every month. The most recent Mixer sold out of tickets, so it is very obvious that the teens enjoy them.

The Mixers provide a great venue for junior high students to meet other students from other schools in the area and experience their first dance in a fun and safe environment.
