Orland Park, IL (August 31, 2010) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, is preparing for the December holidays, through its 4th Annual Adopt-a-Soldier Program. Through the month of September, employees, customers and neighbors will have an opportunity to donate items to be included in holiday care packages that will be sent to troops stationed overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. Along with donations, the Bank will be collecting names from customers and employees of soldiers who will be able to receive these care packages during the upcoming holiday season.
“We have been sending holiday care packages to troops overseas for the past four years through our Adopt-a-Soldier Program,” said Georgeanne Krueger, Assistant Vice President. “This year we are looking to get our customers and neighbors more involved by asking for names of their family members and friends who are stationed overseas that would like to receive a care package this December.”
Collection bins are available for donations through October 1 at all 24 Marquette Bank locations. Requested donation items include: batteries (AA or AAA), body wash, small canned goods, cereal, power bars, crossword/puzzle books, disposable cameras, razors, hard candy, nasal spray, eye drops, new movies and CDs, individually wrapped snacks, socks and Slim Jims.
