Annual Hometown Fest kicks off with carnival (Part II)
The 2010 Palatine Jaycees Hometown Fest kicked off July 1 at Community Park. Residents and suburbanites from near and far ventured to the park to enjoy the food, carnival, games and Elvis Night. A special needs carnival took place from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The carnival opened to the public at 5 p.m. and an Elvis impersonator took the stage at dusk at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater. The festival continues over the holiday with an arts can crafts expo, parade and an Independence Day fireworks display. For more photos, click here.
