McAuley Theology teacher and Deacon, Bob Cislo, along with two other chaperones, accompanied 35 students to the March for Life Pilgrimage to Washington D.C. the weekend of January 20. The trip was coordinated through the Respect Life Club. During their trip, they met with Cardinal Francis George OMI, Archbishop of Chicago, for a Q and A session. More than 400 Chicagoans from local high schools, colleges and universities traveled to Washington for this important event.
On Sunday evening, the students attended the Opening Mass and the National Prayer Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the NationalBasilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Monday morning, they attended the Youth Rally and Mass for Life at the Verizon Center. The stadium was filled with youth from around the country who came together to pray the Rosary, attend confession, listen to a Christian Rock Band and attend Mass with Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, and Deacons. Following Mass and lunch, the group Marched for Life down Constitution Avenue and up “the Hill” along side the Capital Building to the steps of the Supreme Court
