Cardinal J Bernardin School Places Second at St. Ignatius Junior High Academic Bowl

(Orland Hills, IL) – Twelve eighth-grade students from Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School (CJB) participated in the sixth annual St. Ignatius Junior High Scholastic Bowl in Chicago on November 12th. One CJB team placed second in this competition which included teams from 24 schools throughout the Chicagoland area. The CJB team placing second consisted of Michael Laird and John Wolf of Orland Park and Monica Gallagher, Nick Kamholz, Natalie Plys and Michael Tolan of Tinley Park. Students Colin Brankin, Jonathan Hoelzel, Tom Kelley, Madelyn Nicholson and Catherine Viz of Orland Park and Nick O’Connell of Homer Glen also represented CJB in the competition.

"We are all proud of their accomplishments in this intense Academic Bowl," said CJB academic team coach Christine Kirk. "This is the second time we have reached the championship game at this competition in our 5 years competing at St. Ignatius."
