The Village of Orland Park Arts Commission will host a free "Dark Shadows" Film Festival on Saturday, October 23.

The Village of Orland Park Arts Commission, in cooperation with MPI Media Group, will host a free Dark Shadows Film Festival on Saturday, October 23. Episodes featuring Barnabas Collins will be shown from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the village’s Cultural Center, 14760 Park Lane.

The gothic soap opera aired on ABC television from 1966 until 1971.

“People who grew up in the 60s and 70s will enjoy this event, as will those who have discovered ‘Dark Shadows’ since it went off the air,” said Village Trustee Kathy Fenton, chair of the village’s Special Events and Community Outreach Committee.

Refreshments will be available for purchase and an intermission will be offered each hour.

“We’re especially grateful to Orland Park’s own MPI Media Group for making this event possible,” Fenton added.

The film festival is open to all ages and attendees are encouraged to dress in costume. Tickets are not required. For more information, call 708/403-6140.
