"Cake! Cake! Cake!" chanted the Carl Sandburg Speech Team after taking the championships in
Individual Events and Performance in the Round at the IHSA Regional hosted by Sandburg on Saturday February 4, 2012. For each team championship Sandburg Speech celebrates with cake.

" We are thrilled to bring two Regional plaques to Sandburg," said Pat Kelly, who is headed for Sectional in both Humorous Duet Acting and Special Occasion Speaking. " The students, teachers and administrators are very supportive , especially Mr. Treasure, our Activity Director."

Regional Champions were Alyssa Zaczek and Pat Kelly in Humorous Duet Acting, Lauren Brouwers in Informative Speaking, Lauren Rasch in Prose Reading, Rahul Jacob in Original Comedy, and the entire Performance in the Round team.

Facing the toughest Sectional in the State, on Saturday 11, 2012, at Homewood-Flossmor High School, Sandburg Speech will spend the week diligently working. " Our goal is to get the whole darn Sectional team to State!" exclaimed Senior Committee Member, Alyssa Zaczek.
