Bobcat is the first rank which has to be earned before any rank in Cub Scouting. Whether you are seven and beginning your Tiger year or ten and starting your scouting career as a Webelos, it is a rank which is earned by demonstrating your understanding of Scouting’s core values. On January 27th, 2012, the new scouts of Orland Park Cub Scout of Pack 372 participated in the Bobcat ceremony celebrating their achievement of earning this rank. During this ceremony, the parents proudly place the Bobcat pin on their son's uniform upside down, a position it must remain in until a good deed is done.
