Restaurant cashier wanted on arrest warrant recognized by cops, and more

The following items were taken from Orland Park Police reports released Jan. 26 and Jan. 30.

Stun gun used

  • Orland Park Police said they recently used a stun gun to subdue a 28-year-old Orland Park man after he resisted three officers attempting to arrest him for domestic battery. Police responding to the man’s home on the 15100 block of El Cameno Real around 2 p.m. Jan. 15 said he initially resisted two officers trying to handcuff him and continued resisting after a third officer forced him to the floor. He complied with arresting officers after a fourth officer used the stun gun, police said. The complainant told police the man had beaten her with a shoe. After arresting the resident, police placed him in a detention cell but reportedly placed him in restraints and moved him to a different cell after he stuffed several toilet paper rolls into the toilet and crammed underwear into the sink of the first cell.

Cashier arrested

  • A 27-year-old Orland Park man operating a restaurant cash register was taken into custody after police leaving the eatery determined he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Police reportedly recognized the resident of the 17100 block of Highwood Drive as they paid for their meals around 8 p.m. Jan. 17 at the restaurant on the 15800 block of Wolf Road. A police data search confirmed he was wanted on an Orland Park Police charge of possession of cannabis and a Cook County Sheriff’s Police charge of violating probation.

Motorist cited in snowplow collision

  • A 25-year-old Orland Park man from the 9100 block of Kennedy Court has been charged with leaving the scene of a property-damage collision, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, driving with a suspended license, disobeying a traffic signal and failing to give aid or information after allegedly driving into a municipal snow plow around 1:15 p.m. Jan. 19 on 108th Avenue near 143rd Street. Police located him and his Ford Expedition in a gas station parking lot approximately four blocks away. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 15.

DUI

  • A 24-year-old Orland Park man from the 17700 block of Abigail Lane was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Jan. 15 for DUI after police reportedly determined he had driven into a ditch on Wolf Road near 167th Street. Police also cited him for driving too fast for conditions and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 22.
  • A 28-year-old Burbank man was arrested Jan. 14 for DUI during an 11:55 p.m. traffic stop on the 15600 block of LaGrange Road for driving the wrong way. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 7.
  • A 44-year-old Orland Park woman from the 9200 block of Whitehall Lane was arrested Jan. 24 for DUI and speeding during an 11:50 p.m. traffic stop on Westminster Drive after police reportedly clocked her car traveling 30 mph in a 20 mph zone. She is scheduled to appear in court March 19.
  • A 25-year-old Oak Forest man was arrested Jan. 24 outside an apartment complex on the 9000 block of Lunar Court for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle by police responding to a 4:05 a.m. loud-noise complaint. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 15.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 19-year-old Orland Park male from the 15100 block of 82nd Avenue was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly threatening another teen with a BB pistol around 11 a.m. Jan. 6 in a supermarket parking lot on the 9300 block of 159th Street. He is scheduled to appear at a Feb. 14 administrative hearing. Police also seized two BB pistols, pending the hearing’s outcome.
  • A 52-year-old Manteno man staying in Orland Park was charged with disorderly conduct around 10:45 p.m. Jan. 20 after a female acquaintance in the Crossing At Brook Hills subdivision complained he had been looking in her window.

Underage drinking

  • Two 20-year-old Tinley Park men were cited for underage consumption of alcohol around 9:45 p.m. Jan. 17 after the vehicle in which they were riding was stopped at Ravinia Avenue and 159th Street for tailgating and speeding. They are scheduled to appear at a Feb. 14 administrative hearing. Police also reported confiscating a set of brass knuckles from the driver, but said they didn’t charge him with unlawful use of a weapon.

Drug-related

  • A 22-year-old Palos Hills man was cited for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia following an 8:20 p.m. Jan. 17 traffic stop on the 14400 block of LaGrange Road for driving without illuminated headlamps. He is scheduled to appear at a Feb. 14 administrative hearing.
  • A 19-year-old Mokena man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia Jan. 16 following a 6:25 p.m. traffic stop on the 16700 block of LaGrange Road for not wearing a seat belt. He is scheduled to appear at a Feb. 14 administrative hearing.
