Hit-and-run

A 19-year-old Orland Park male from the 14100 block of Trenton Drive who allegedly crashed into a light pole at 138th Street and Carolina Lane around 12:55 a.m. Jan. 5 reportedly returned to the scene in the seriously damaged vehicle 90 minutes later, passing crash investigators and driving under the leaning light fixture. He turned himself in at 1:45 p.m. and was charged with leaving the scene of a property-damage crash, reckless driving and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Fraud

A 22-year-old Chicago woman arrested Jan. 5 after using a credit card to purchase an iPad at a consumer electronics store on the 15800 block of LaGrange Road is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 27 on a charge of illegally using another person’s credit card. Police said the card belonged to a Charlotte, N.C., woman who denied knowing the Chicago woman or allowing anyone to use her card.

A 29-year-old Glenwood woman arrested Jan. 11 after using a check at a consumer electronics store on the 15800 block of LaGrange Road to purchase items collectively valued at almost $450 is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 2 on charges of forgery, unlawful possession of fraudulent identification and obstructing identification.
Battery

A 22-year-old Blue Island man and 20-year-old Tinley Park man were cited for disorderly conduct Jan. 9 and banned from the Orland Square Mall for a year after allegedly punching two other men at the mall around 7:25 p.m. They are scheduled to appear at a Feb. 14 administrative hearing.
DUI

A 21-year-old Oak Forest man was arrested Jan. 14 for DUI during a 3:35 a.m. traffic stop on the 9100 block of 159th Street for improper lane use. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 7. Police investigating a car spin out reportedly determined the driver was drunk.

A 24-year-old Plano man was arrested Jan. 8 for DUI during a 3:35 a.m. traffic stop on the 10500 block of 159th Street for driving 62 mph in a 45 mph zone.

A 41-year-old Calumet City woman was arrested Jan. 14 for DUI during a 3:40 a.m. traffic stop on the 15100 block of Wolf Road after she allegedly disregarded a traffic signal and twice improperly changed lanes.

A 45-year-old Chicago man was arrested Jan. 13 for DUI during a 4 p.m. crash investigation on the 15400 block of LaGrange Road. Police also cited the man for failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision and operating a motor vehicle with expired registration. He is scheduled to appear in court March. 2.
Theft

Two Chicago woman – one 23 and one 22 – and a 24-year-old Chicago man arrested Jan. 10 during a 6:55 p.m. traffic stop on the 9500 block of 151st Street are scheduled to appear in court March 2 on a charge of theft. Three teens in the car were cited for theft and are scheduled to appear at a Feb. 14 administrative hearing. Police made the stop for traffic violations after observing the vehicle’s occupants acting suspiciously in an Orland Square Mall parking lot.
Drug-related

A 19-year-old Romeoville man was cited for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia during a 4:20 p.m. Jan. 14 traffic stop at 143rd Street and Wolf Road for expired license plate tags. He is scheduled to appear at a Feb. 14 administrative hearing.
