A 32-year-old Chicago man has been charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence and possession of cocaine after criticizing another motorist’s driving in the Orland Square Mall parking lot Friday.
Police took Cristoval Jimenez Jr. into custody around 2:11 a.m. after he failed a sobriety test, according to a report released this week.
After an altercation between the two, the other motorist called police, saying Jimenez had blocked his car into its parking space.
Police arrived to find the two men near their cars with their car engines running. Jimenez, who allegedly had alcohol on his breath, failed a field sobriety test, police said. The DUI charge was increased to aggravated DUI because Jimenez’ license had been suspended or revoked due to a prior DUI conviction.
Police also reported finding a sandwich bag containing less than one gram of white powder that tested positive for cocaine and a socket wrench socket containing burnt marijuana residue.
Police released the other motorist without charges.
