Kendall College Offers Free Workshop On Self-Publishing As Marketing Tool

On Wednesday, August 31 from 6 – 7:30 p.m., Kendall College will welcome experienced marketer Maria Martinez to its campus, who will lead a free seminar open to the public titled, “Self-Publishing Your Book to Market Your Brand.” This event is hosted by the Kendall College School of Business.

In an increasingly competitive business atmosphere, individuals are always looking to make their personal brands more visible and unique. Your readers will undoubtedly want to learn about an innovative way to achieve this goal. The workshop will review how individuals can publish an article or book as a tool to market a personal brand. Your readers may even want to consider self-publishing as Maria Martinez did with her self-authored memoir titled Cuban Stories. Martinez will also cover how you can brand and market yourself, the process of writing your book, the idea and ways of self-publishing, and how to effectively market your book.

Maria Martinez is a multi-faceted consumer and multicultural marketer with over 25 years experience in branding, consumer, retail and financial services. Most recently, she has been an independent branding and marketing specialist at her firm, America M. Selections, Ltd., helping individuals to define and market their brands. She is a board member of Chicago Women in Publishing.

The workshop is free and open to the general public at Kendall College, 900 N. North Branch Street, in Chicago. Light refreshments will be served and parking is free. Reservations should be made by August 24 to scott.argo@kendall.edu. Room location will be provided upon registration.
