Music in the Street will feature local musicians and vendors on Sunday, 7/24.

The Berwyn Historic Depot District Special Events Committee of the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) will hold its second annual Music in the Street on Sunday, July 24 from noon to 7:00 p.m. The event will take place on the 3200 block of Grove Avenue, between Stanley Avenue and 32nd Street in Berwyn’s Depot District. The street festival will feature live bands, food, and vendors. Admission is free. The event is open to all ages and is dog-friendly.

Music in the Street was created in the spirit of the city’s Buy Berwyn shop local campaign. “We wanted to create a space where we could bring out our area’s families to enjoy the summer while also raising awareness about the fantastic businesses that we have and the local talent that lives in our community. All of this year’s bands have ties to Berwyn as do our businesses,” stated Dorothy Chiero, owner of Cabin Fever Bar & Grill and one of the lead organizers of the event. “The Depot District has been working hard to promote itself as a destination, and Music in the Street will deliver on that promise by providing entertainment, dining and a relaxed atmosphere. We also made sure to focus on supporting our local art scene. This year’s event will focus on music, but we hope to keep expanding the event to include all of our local artists in the future.”

The stage has slated American Tramp to headline at 6:00 p.m. The party will also host The Oldsmobiles, 12 Gauge Noise, Something's Not Right, A Modest Proposal, and Thin Grin. The Peggy Rose Academy dancers will perform during intermission. Participating vendors include Cabin Fever Bar & Grill, The Garlic Clove Restaurant, Tacos y Salsa Restaurant, Classic Touch Hair Designers, Harris Bank, Oak Park Coffee News, Over the Rainbow Ice Cream Parlor, The Urban Mutt, Liz's Handmade Sudsy Soaps, Above and Beyond Music Store, Curves, and Cha Cha Enterprises.
