A standing-room-only audience celebrated the 90th anniversary of American women getting the right to vote with the League of Women Voters of Oak Park & River Forest at the Oak Park Public Library Aug. 25.

Actress/historian Annette Baldwin portrayed five suffragette leaders in her one-woman show, “The Long Road to Victory.” The five women portrayed included Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Alice Paul, and Carrie Chapman Catt.

The Historical Society of Oak Park & River Forest provided displays and scrapbooks related to the 72-year-long struggle waged by women demanding the right to vote.
